A VIR Eliminator system converts A/C systems with VIR valves to an accumulator-orifice-cycling clutch system, as found in later models. This eliminates the common problem of sticking POA and expansion valves. It reduces the desiccant breakdown and rust that occurred inside the original steel VIR casing, enhanced by heat from the exhaust manifold.
