In-line residual valves maintain a preset pressure from the valve to the disc or drum. This pressure is very important because this pressure keeps the shoes or pads from collapsing away from the disc or drum. If this should happen you would not have any braking power with one push on the pedal. Valve has 1/8" NPT threads on both ends and is 1-5/8" long.
