If using the original tranny, you will also need part # SGS4754, adapter for speedo gears on tranny for 1947-54 trucks Change over to 3:55 rear end ratio in your 1947-54 1/2 ton truck or to 3:38 ratio in your 1955-59 truck. Unit fits right in your original torque-tube without any modification. Simply remove the center section and replace the ring gear and pinion. Instructions included. (1954 trucks must use a 1940-53 carrier). This will not only increase your fuel mileage and decrease engine wear but will also increase your road speed 15% (with the same RPM's). Also available is an optional installation kit which includes everything to make the rear end new!
