FORD  EMULSION TUBE- -( NEW ITEM) - Part Number S-9534
Not since the '60s has anyone made new emulsion tubes for the Stromberg 97--48--and 81 carbs. I now offer them new and with the fine quality you expect. A lot of the problems with your 97s running rich is because the tubes have been drilled out to run alky. Replace your drilled out tubes and you will see a big differance in performance once you get your fuel to air mixture back into the curve. A lot of the tubes have the small holes in the slot crushed due to over tightening the the main metering jets. When these holes are closed or pinched your carb wont idle. I sell an emulsion tube tool (part # S-104) to remove and install this very important part which is usually overlooked (because they cant get it out) . This is the heart and brain of your carb and yet most rebuilders cant get it out so it is never serviced. If you try to remove it without an extractor it will only wedge it tighter in the bore and in some cases I have had to drill them out after guys have pounded on them. Dont try this at home because we do it in a fixture made for for this job only. NOTE never remove the small curved tubes that are in the venturi. They damage very easy without special equipment and were never meant to be removed during a standard rebuild. If you have a plugged tube that you cant get unclogged -- we can repair or replace them in our shop with our equipment. I have new tubes available.
