Crane Cam's roller tappets are made from high strength steel alloy, precision machined on CNC (Computer Numerical Control) manufacturing equipment and heat treated fro strength and wear resistance. Internally, all components are computer matched and air-gap measured to micro-tolerances in the millionths-of-an-inch range. These tappets are engineered to deliver significantly more precise oil metering, for improved oil control and valvetrain operation over stock tappets. The pushrods seat area has a larger outside-diameter area, and is reinforced for greater strength. Overall, these tappets have fewer moving components, for greater durability. Independent testing showed that Crane Cams new hydraulic roller tappets, when used in high performance engine applications, can also deliver up to 500 rpm increase over stock tappets.
