Stock colors include black, dark blue and bamboo. Others are special order. The stock console for pre-1980 cars is no longer available from Mercedes. The early console included boards which run along the transmission tunnel, as an integral part of the console unit. The stock console for the later cars is available, but does not have the boards built in. However, the later console will fit, simply by fitting new carpet boards for the area along the transmission tunnel. This part number 68-3297BAM includes a later-style console (part # 68-3314BAM), plus a pair of carpeted boards to place along the tunnel. The appearance will not be exactly original, but the part fits and works in exactly the same way. Specifically, cars up to chassis number 107.044.12.058372 will use this console.
