JERRY’S POWER STEERING IN A 1957 FORD THUNDERBIRD, USING BORGESON JOINTS ** T-Bird Owners Please Note - When using our Power Steering Sector, you can retain your full steering column to the gearbox, as an option. JERRY’S EXCLUSIVE Ford Power Steering Car Enthusiasts - Have you always wanted modern power steering for your 1949-64 full-size Fords and Mercs, 1955-62 T-Birds and Edsels? We have developed a modern power steering sector. Benefits and Advantages of Jerry’s sector conversion - Fully integrated power steering sector (gearbox) - based on the Saginaw 605 box. Improved steering ratio from 5 1/2 rounds lock to lock of the factory sector, to 3 1/2 rounds lock to lock on our power steering sector. For factory power steering cars, it is 6 1/2 rounds lock to lock. With our conversion, you can still retain you stock steering radius from left to right. Space between exhaust manifold and sector distance improved by up to 1/2" over stock steering box. No frame modification on majority of applications. Power Steering Sector uses existing frame to sector holes, except for 49-51 Fords and Mercs. Uses original manual steering idler arm and center link, bolts directly to conversion's pitman arm, without modifications, except for 49-51 Fords and Mercs. For the 1949-57 Fords, Mercs and T-Birds, with a hollow steering shaft, Jerry’s has the updated horn and signal mechanism available. Call to inquire. Very compact, quiet operation. Will accept original steering columns with column shift, by using supplied instructions. Each sector sold is given an extensive packet of installation details, diagrams, photos of factory column installation. Sector kit includes sector, pitman arm, rag joint, and column tube bearing. This sector accepts most power steering pumps but you will then need to gauge your Power Steering Pump Pressure. Jerry’s offers Power Steering Pumps and Brackets, with correct pressure to accompany our Power Steering Sector Conversion. Our sector uses needle bearings rather than bronze bushings to pilot the pitman shaft. This gives longer life and more durability to the unit. Our sector also uses an additional pitman shaft seal. No adapters or frame brackets are needed to mount the steering sector. This item sells for $1115.00, plus UPS shipping. 1958 1959
