Whether in a street rod or under the bulging hood of a '67 Chevelle, you can't miss the Ram Jet 502's 11-inch-tall intake plenum. And with more than 500-lb-ft of tire-ruining torque on tap from 2200 rpm to 5200 rpm, you'll feel the engine whenever the fuel injection throttlebody is cracked open. The Ram Jet 502's signature intake system is the key to its broad torque band - it crams air into the cylinder heads much like a Pro Stock-style intake system. And though its height is impressive looking, the Ram Jet intake system sits only about a half-inch taller than a comparable carbureted system with a high-rise intake manifold, Holley four-barrel carb and air cleaner. Designed for easy installation and operation, the Ram Jet 502 includes everything but a fuel source to get running, including a electronic control module (ECM). In fact, the Ram Jet 502 is so easy to install - and looks so good once it is - your biggest problem will be deciding whether to reinstall your car or truck's hood. Installation Notes: The Ram Jet 502 requires a 12-volt power source (and ground), coolant, exhaust system, fuel feed and fuel return line (to the fuel tank). An in-tank fuel pump is recommended. Clutch linkage boss is cast into block, but must be drilled and tapped. When using cast iron exhaust manifolds, lower head bolts may need to be replaced with bolts with shorter heads, for clearance. The ECM has a "green" mode that controls rpm for the break-in period. Note: Distributor with melonized steel gear must be used with long blocks and partial engines with steel camshafts or engine damange can occur. GMPP distributor P/N 93440806 is recommended.
