Small Bore Racing Block Cast iron, 3.875-inch bore (350-ci main size). This is our fully CNC-machined Bowtie block for serious competition applications. It comes with all traditional racing modifications provided by GM Performance Parts. The non-siamesed block has 3.875-inch bores, but can be bored to 4.030 inches. Block has been blueprinted on cylinder decks (9.025-inch deck height), front of block, rear of block, oil pan rail surfaces, and head dowel locator pins. Dry sump oil galleries are oversized and tapped for pipe plugs. The 8620 steel bearing caps have outer 7/16-inch studs (20-degree splay) on intermediate main bearings and front and rear bearing caps have 7/16-inch inner studs and 3/8-inch straight outer bolts. Bearing cap inner bolts are spread 0.210-inches to allow use of 2.65-inch diameter journal crankshafts. Block is align -honed after installation of bearing caps. Uses two-piece rear seal, but can be adapted to one-piece seal. Uses pre-1986 oil pan and wet sump, but can be adapted to dry sump with plugs. Sonic bore sheet data provided with block.
