ZL1 Big Block Aluminum. Improved version (based on original tooling) of one of the rarest production engines ever built - the ZL1 aluminum big-block (as used in the 1969 corvette and Camaro). This new casting is made from 356-T6M aluminum alloy and has a 4.240-inch cast iron liner that can be bored to 4.300 inches. Maximum stroke is 4.375 inches. Improved bottom end has four-bolt splayed steel main caps. The block includes screw-in freeze plugs with O-ring seals, a two-piece rear main seal, as well as provisions for wet or dry sump oiling systems and a mechanical fuel pump. All GM Performance big-block cylinder heads will fit.
