ALL  PUSHROD - Part Number 366277
Pushrod Heavy duty, single piece. SB & V-6 engine, 1010 steel, 5.16-inch, 7.824 in length. Kit with 16 pieces; 0.100-inch longer than stock.. Pushrod length comparisons can be confusing even for experienced engine builders. A pushrod's effective length is determined by the relationship between its radiused ends and the concave cups in the rocker arm and tappet. Blueprints for production Chevrolet pushrods call for measuring pushrod length with a special gauge that eliminates inaccuracies produced by chamfered oil holes and radiused tips. Because such fixtures are not generally available, most engine builders simply measure overall length when comparing pushrods. Comparisons with published dimensions for other pushrods may not be valid because of differences in oil hold diameters, chamfers, and tip designs. Geometery Lesson Valvetrain geometery has a major impact on the reliability and performance of a high-performance Chevrolet. GM Performance Parts offers heavy-duty pushrods for small block V8 and V6/90 deg engines in both standards and extra-long lengths. Off-highway engines with high-lift camshafts and/or extra-long valve stems usually require pushrods which are .100 in longer than stock. If the pushrod length is correct, the rocker arm and valve stem will be at a 90 degree angle when the valve is at one-third of its maximum lift. GM Performance Parts offers a complete line of heavy-duty pushrods for Chevrolet small-block V8 and 90 degree V6 engines. These pushrods are designed to deliver outstanding performance in high-performance and competition applications. GM Performance Parts pushrods are available in a variety of lengths, diameters, and materials to meet the needs of enthusiasts, racers, and engine builders. Pushrod stiffness plays a crucial role in engine performance. GM Performance Parts new pushrods are designed to withstand the stresses imposed by harsh camshaft profiles and stiff valve springs. Thicker walls and stronger materials make GM Performance Parts pushrods superior to standard production components. Their extra stiffness and strength stabilize the valvetrain at high rpm by reducing pushrod flexing. GM Performacne Parts pushrods are available in two materials. Pushrods made from 1010 mild steel are suitable for high-performance street cars, power boats, street rods, and limited competition applications. Premium quality pushrods made from 4130 chrome moly steel are highly recommended for maximum effort racing engines. Technical Notes: Heavy-duty pushrods for small-block V8 and V6/90 deg engines are available in standard and .100 in lengths. Extra-long pushrods can be used to restore the correct valvetrain geometry when using a high-lift camshaft with a small base circle diameter. Extra-long pushrods are also recommended when valves with longer-than-stock stems are installed. GM Performance Parts pushrods are case hardened for use with pushrod guideplates. They can be used with all conventional hydraulic and mechanical flat tappets and most aftermarket roller lifters. They cannot be used with hydraulic roller tappets installed in 1987 and later small-block V8 and V6/90 deg engines. GM Performance Parts offers a complete line of heavy-duty pushrods for most GM engines. They are designed to deliver outstanding performance in high-performance street and competition applications and are available in two materials: 1010 mild steel, which is suitable for high-performance street cars, power boats, street rods, and limited competition applications, and 4130 chrome-moly steel, for maximum-performance racing engine. Tech Notes: Heavy-duty pushrods for small-block V-8 and V-6/90-degree engines are available in standard and 0.100-inch extended lengths. Longer pushrods can be used to restore the correct valvetrain geometry when using a high-lift camshaft with a small base circle diameter. Extra-long pushrods also are recommended when valves with longer-than-stock stems are installed. GM Performance Parts pushrods are case-hardened for use with pushrod guide plates. They can be used with all conventional hydraulic and mechanical flat tappets and most aftermarket roller lifters.
