Distributor Small block & big-block V8. This melonized steel gear is required on all crate engines and for use with flat-tappet steel roller camshafts. Engines assembled without this gear may affect the engine warranty. Note: This gear is supplied on distribitor P/N 1104067. High-quality, durable and dependable GMPP distributors optimize the performance of your GM engine. These distributors are interchangeable among standard GM small-block and big-block V-8's. For tall-deck engines, GMPP offers a distributor with an adjustable slip collar - P/N 10093387. Note: It is extremely important to use a melonized steel distributor gear with all new GM engines equipped with a flt-tappet or hydraulic steel roller camshaft. Serious engine damage may occur otherwise. Most GMPP distributors come with a melonized steel gear. Use distributor gear P/N 10456413 on a non-GMPP distributor.
