1962-1976 Valve Covers Buick V6 & Jeep. Late '78, 1979 (8-5/8" center to center of bolts, top & bottom). Shipping Wt. 9 lbs. Offy has valve covers to fit Buick V6 and Jeep engines (part no. 5881- all models 1962-1976). In 1977 and early 1978-231 cu in. engines, a slight modification was made to the heads which changed placement of bolt holes on te valve covers. Part no. 6174 fits this limited application. Later 1978 231 cu. in. models returned to the original design and take the normal 5881 valve covers. Advise any customer with 1977 or 1978 231 cu. in engine to check carfefully. Can be ordered with holes blocked off - same price. Not legal for use in California on pollution controlled motor vehicles. Offenhauser valve covers add the final touch to an engine. Manufactured from the finest aluminum and polished to a high lustre. Besides adding beauty to a powerful engine, these valve covers reduce valve noise and dissipate heat.
