RADIAL TONEBONE CLASSIC - Part Number 000141
Tonebone Classic 12AX7 tube for natural overdrive tone True bypass clean mode Powerful EQ for wide tonal range Ultra low-noise - amazing dynamics and feel Cleans up like a tube amp when guitar turned down The Tonebone Classic is a 12AX7 tube equipped true-bypass distortion that has been optimized for flexibility and tonal range. Following the vision set by Leo Fender in the 1950’s, the Classic is based on vintage overdrive sounds that started in the '60s and '70s and today remain some of the most sought after tones. With three drive settings, variable drive control and powerful EQ, the Classic lets you dial in the slight overdrive to high-gain saturation and everything in between. And like a real tube amp, when you turn your guitar volume down, the Classic cleans up naturally - without the noise, hum or buzz that is common with most other pedals. At higher settings, every note remains distinct. The Classic is so responsive and dynamic your playing style shines through! The Radial Tonebone Classic – the most dynamic and responsive distortion pedal ever! Features & Specifications Build like a tank… Compact to fit on a pedalboard, the Tonebone Classic is the world’s most compact tube distortion. It is in fact a hybrid that combines the control of a dual-stage solid-state front end with the warmth and natural even harmonic generation of a 12AX7 tube. The tube is mounted on its side to keep the pedal profile down for easy pedal action and is powered by an external 15VDC supply. Power is internally regulated and filtered to eliminate noise. To further reduce self-noise a unique ground plane circuit topology is employed making the Tonebone classic the quietest pedal in its class. Tonebone is also built tough; 14-gauge steel construction reduces stress on the PC board and a baked enamel finish will keep your Tonebone looking great for years! Specifications Circuit type: Hybrid tube / proprietary circuit Tube type 12AX7 vacuum tube Input impedance: 1meg Ohm at input jack Output impendence: 10K Ohm Drive gain 3-way switch: Used in conjunction with the drive gain control. Drive switch selects the gain range of the overdrive circuit. Low: Med: High: Normal mode (+0dB Nominal) Medium distortion (+9dB) High distortion (+20dB) Drive control: Used in conjunction with the drive gain switch, drive is used to adjust the overall amount of gain to the overdrive circuit. MID BOOST 3-way switch: Used to fatten up the sound for more cut and sustain during solos. Also, will fatten up the sound of single coil pickups. High: Medium: Bypass: +12dB @ 620Hz +6dB @ 390Hz No boost FILTER control: Balances the ratio of high frequencies between amplifier and Classic distortion to compensate for overly bright amplifiers. TOP END 3-way switch Switch sets the overall tonal character of the Classic to best match the amp and settings. Brighter amps are normally compensated with darker settings. Bright: Flat: Dark: Boosts +6dB @ 10kHz No boost Cuts -6dB @ 1.8kHz HIGH & LOW EQ controls: Unity gain to +15dB Low: High: +/- 14.5 db @ 100Hz +/- 10 db @ 4.3kHz LEVEL control: Used to balance the output level between the input drive without altering any of the tonal characteristics. Works like the master volume on an amplifier. Footswitch: True bypass with green on/off status LED Heavy-duty high-cycle switch LED indicator: Large 3mm OD ultra-bright status LED Switching: Opto-coupler assisted, 5msec Rise time Construction: 14 gauge steel, baked enamel finish Size: 7"w x 4 1/4"d x 2"h (174 x 108 x 51mm) Weight: 2.15lb (1kg) NOTE: THIS UNIT SHIPS WITH A 115 VAC 60HZ POWER SUPPLY FOR USE IN NORTH AMERICA AS WELL AS ANY OTHER COUNTRY WITH 115-120 VOLT SERVICE.
